Local Security Monitoring Engineer (m/f/d) | Munich, Germany

Main tasks and responsibilities:

The Spaceopal (SPO) Local Security Monitoring (SECMON) Engineer is a member of the SPO Technical Team in the domain of the Security, supporting the Security Monitoring Manager in the activities of this domain.

The candidate participates in the management of Galileo’s SECMON processes. These processes include security monitoring and control activities performed by the SPO Operational Teams following processes defined at system level and tools provided by the operated infrastructures.

The activities are coordinated by the responsible of the SPO Security Team and include:

  • Support from a regulatory/programmatic point of view, verify and control the activities carried out by the local teams involved in the SECMON related activities
  • Interact with the local EUSPA representatives for the day-by-day activities, contribute to periodic or ad-hoc reports to EUSPA and to the relevant coordination activities
  • Contribute to the verification of the operational products and procedures developed by the SPO teams. It may include the participation to the system validation or simulation activities.
  • Contribute to the definition/refinement of analysis processes, to the definition of investigation methodologies and techniques for security events
  • Contribute to the verification of the supporting infrastructures during all the verification phases carried out by the operational teams, analysis of the offered capacities and definition of potential improvements
  • Contribute to the management of lesson learned processes
  • Participation in anomalies analysis, configuration changes and operational activities planning

Required Qualification and Experience:

  • Experience in similar activities, better if acquired in Space or Defence programs, or in highly security-sensitive commercial sectors (e.g. Finance).
  • Experience in the Galileo program, and especially knowledge of the Galileo-specific accreditation processes and methodology, will be a preferential factor.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of methodologies involved in the security accreditation processes at national and international level.
  • Knowledge and experience in security risk assessment and management.
  • Knowledge and experience in system security documentation review.
  • Knowledge and experience in security inspections.
  • Knowledge of technologies involved in the cyber-protection of critical IT infrastructures

Project Controller (m/f/d) Sales and Project Financial Data | Munich, Germany

Main tasks and responsibilities:

The Project Controller, with focus on Sales and Project Financial Data, is responsible for preparing all financial data for offers as well for the maintenance and control of project costs and related data. The Project Controller shall ensure availability and consistency of the required data.

In particular the tasks include:

  • Preparation of financial data for offers and contract changes (calculation of cost/price/risk/margin, development of Milestone Payment Plans, input for cashflow forecast, preparation of customer price sheets, etc.)
  • Check and clarification of the financial calculations of Subcontractor offers
  • Maintenance and control of project cost and Milestone Payment Plans
  • Monitoring schedule changes having impact on payments, report and support management of related consequences
  • Preparation and check Payment Milestone Achievement Certificates
  • Setup and maintaining all project financial data in the ERP system
  • Provision of regular reports of all project financial data including sales plan/forecast etc.
  • Supporting the preparation of Customer Project Progress reports
  • Supporting the company’s budget preparation and the relative periodic reviews and reporting
  • Calculation of Penalties/Liquidated Damages on the basis of KPI result

Required qualification and experience:

  • At least three years of professional experience in project controlling with a focus on sales
  • Knowledge and experience in industrial project controlling in a technology project

Financial Accountant (m/f/d) | Munich, Germany

Tasks and Responsibilities:

The Financial Accountant supports the Finance and Controlling Manager by executing all necessary tasks to ensure adequate company accounting and reporting.

This includes in particular:

  • Responsibility for the monitoring of the accounts payable and receivable and for the reconciliation of ledgers and open items list
  • In charge of adequate recording of the fixed assets using proper accounting principles under HGB and IFRS, including preparation of documentation
  • Preparation of the records and documentation for the tax consultant
  • Responsibility for the execution of payments transactions and monitoring of cash incl. reconciliation of the bank and credit cards statements
  • Monthly reconciliation of accounts and support in the preparation of the monthly and yearly closing

Tasks and Responsibilities:

The Management and Team Assistant handles a wide range of administrative and executive support related tasks and is able to work independently with little or no supervision. Representing and supporting the Mission, Vision and Goals of the company her/his ability to interact with international staff (at all levels) in a fast paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality is crucial.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

The Management and Team Assistant provides all the necessary organizational and administrative support to Spaceopal.

Acting as the central administrative and organizational point of contact for the company he/she is responsible for:

  • Reception Management and guest book keeping, coordination and management of meetings, incl. catering and formal access procedures
  • Organisational preparation and follow-up of appointments, meetings and agendas of the Management Team
  • Maintaining conflict free calendars for the Executives

The Spaceopal (SPO) Satellite Service Engineer is a member of the SPO Technical Team, he/she is the Satellite expert within the SPO Service Provision team

 

The role requires liaising effectively across all the teams in the Service Provision domain and with other GSOp teams, promoting the related information transfer and gathering necessary information and data for the effective achievement of the tasks below described and following the indications of the functional team leader and the Service Provision Manager.

 

Processes and activities to be managed and overseen are primarily, but not limited to, the following:

  • Contributing to the definition of new Processes and the execution of System Level Operational Procedures (SLOPs) development activities, focusing to the Satellite asset aspects and in accordance to the Galileo Service evolution
  • Contributing to the preparation and delivery of the documentation for the periodical meetings with EUSPA (e.g.: MPM, QSPR, SER) for all the aspects related to the Galileo Satellite asset
  • Proactive monitoring of the service performance focusing on Galileo Satellite events and related KPI aspects
  • Proactively supporting the achievement of the activities (e.g.: memo preparation, support meetings organization, internal report drafting) necessary for the events related to Satellite issues and incidents, liaising with the SDM team
  • Continuous screening and reviewing the satellite observation and anomaly reports, or providing satellite expertise on more general service delivery observation/anomaly reports

Contract Officer (m/f/d) | Munich, Germany

Galileo Service Operations will provide high-quality positioning, navigation and timing services to users across the whole world as a civil-controlled service with guaranteed continuity of coverage.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

The Contract Officer will have the following responsibilities:

  • Support and manage all legal aspects in relation to large service contracts with our institutional customers EUSPA and ESA and with European industry. In particular you will in close cooperation with our procurement, sales and technical team:
    • prepare contracts, contract amendments and related documentation such as NDAs, MOUs TAs and support the respective negotiations
    • support the preparation of RFP, RFI, ITT etc.
    • prepare formal communications
    • manage any administrative, contractual and legal issue arising from implemented contracts
    • support and advise the management to ensure contract compliance
  • Prepare, update, and analyse documentation and contracts required to operate the company such as:
    • Consultancy Service Agreements or other supplier contracts
    • Licence Agreements
    • Employment Contracts, Labour Lease and Secondment Agreements
    • Support the management in company law matters
  • Coordinate and interface external advisors supporting the various legal aspects
    • Manage and control legal documentation

Required Qualification and Experience:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in law
  • At least five-year’s experience in contract matters, gained either in European industry or public administration, preferably in the space sector
  • Talent for formulating contractual/legal documents and negotiating complex contracts

Tasks and Responsibilities:

The Spaceopal (SPO) Service Level Engineer is a member of the SPO Technical Team in the domain of the Service Provision, specifically in the area of Service Level Management.

The Service Level Engineer is supporting the Service Level Manager for any issues related to the KPIs and for the overall achievement of the following tasks (primarily but not limited to):

  • Data collection and producing the KPI Reports
  • Supporting Service Level Reviews
  • Supporting the chairing of the KPI Review Boards (including generating Minutes of Meeting and following up on Actions)
  • Reviewing any KPI violations and recommending any correction actions
  • Analysing any changes to the KPI Regime including Validation
  • Performing Financial Simulations as required
  • Performing KPI Impact Analysis for any Infrastructure upgrade or Operational changes/improvements

The Spaceopal (SPO) System Engineer role with focus on the Procurement & Sales Activities is supporting the Spaceopal Procurement & Sales Team in the preparation of the proposals and requires liaising effectively across all SPO teams, including the various technical experts as well as with all industrial partners.

The System Engineer, with focus on Procurement & Sales, is a member of the Procurement & Sales Team.

The main responsibilities are twofold:

  • Effectively collaborate to the preparation of all technical aspects together with the identified point of contacts involved each time (evolution, external sites, services, support functions, etc.) in the frame of proposal preparation and negotiation and of the joint, temporary working groups setup for the specific proposals.
  • To provide the Procurement and Sales team with the technical expertise in support of the Pre-Sales activities and, once a proposal is being prepared, for the full integration of the technical aspects, following the System Engineering processes and activities spanning over all Galileo and Spaceopal’s GNSS infrastructures, sites and teams, in accordance with the indications of the experts of the Technical team.

Processes and activities to be managed and overseen are primarily, but not limited to, the following:

  • Support the harmonized preparation of all aspects of complex technical proposals, in close coordination with the Procurement & Sales team and all technical areas, ensuring that the various inputs are harmonized and are driven by the system perspective
  • Analyse, tailor and develop requirements for contract changes and new activities to be procured
  • Support the Procurement & Sales team in the evaluation and negotiation of complex technical offers
  • Support technical analysis and solutions of all ongoing projects and new developments

In general, the System Engineer is required to support the development of technical offers, technical notes, plans and other documentation as required, plus regular reports on status of activities across all Spaceopal projects.

Required Qualification and Experience:

To be eligible, a candidate must:

  • Hold a degree in Telecommunications/Electronics/Informatics Engineering or Physics, Math or similar with at least 5 years of work experience; alternatively, 8+ years related work experience
  • Have a Systems Engineering formation, best if developed in the space industry and in international environments/projects
  • Have proven working experience in space industry, space service, or navigation downstream applications
  • Have experience and background in Satellite Navigation and related mission services engineering
  • Have experience, background and strong interest in commercial aspects of complex technical projects
  • Have knowledge and experience in security and related processes
  • Have experience and background specific to navigation programs, in particular Ground Segment architecture and services is highly appreciated

Remote Site Maintenance Engineer (m/f/d) | Munich, Germany

Spaceopal is the prime service operations contractor for the European Galileo Satellite Navigation System and manages all Galileo Service Operations. The awarded European Commission (EC) contract to Spaceopal is more than just its satellites in space. Galileo Service Operations will provide high-quality positioning, navigation and timing services to users across the whole world as a civil-controlled service with guaranteed continuity of coverage.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

The Remote Site Maintenance Engineer supports the Spaceopal Site Service Maintenance Engineer on all aspects of the infrastructure deployment and Hosting Service provision as well as the related Ground Segment L1 Maintenance services at the world-wide distributed Galileo Remote Sites.

She/he is further responsible to improve service reliability of the Remote Site infrastructure and Maintenance services and to reduce the number of incidents.

This includes in particular:

  • To deal with incidents, other emergencies and unplanned problems in line with the GSOp Service Management Processes
  • To process all maintenance and hosting service tickets related to the remote sites and GILSC, providing punctual and exhaustive analysis
  • To ensure the correct execution, recording and triggering of follow-up tasks needed to resolve the underlying issues in line with the GSOp ILS Plan
  • To act as point of contact for the ILS Support Desk for the status monitoring of the local maintenance tasks (preventive, corrective, evolutive)
  • To verify, planning and scheduling of local maintenance work and the correct and timely implementation of the solution for any issue detected
  • To develop together with the site L1 and Hosting Maintenance teams the annual preventive maintenance plan applicable for the respective site and GILSC
  • To support the technical coordination of the remote site hosting service and maintenance tasks
  • To support the processing of the changes/upgrades of the remote sites and GILSC
  • To suggest refinement of maintenance and spare processes to optimize TAT between GILSC, Sites and Manufacturers
  • To support the Site Service Maintenance Engineer in the assessment, monitoring and control of the performance of the subcontractors
  • To maintain accurate records of all associated databases and technical documentation
  • To review subcontractor’s data packages and issuing of technical-managerial documentation
  • To support the Site Service Maintenance Engineer in the preparation of the technical proposals SPO should receive from EUSPA for contract changes related to remote sites

Required Qualification and Experience:

  • University degree in a relevant field (e.g. Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Telecommunications or Electronics)
  • Experience in similar activities, better if acquired in Space or Defence programs
  • Experience in the Galileo program

Tasks and Responsibilities:

The Spaceopal (SPO) Spacecraft Engineer is a member of the SPO Technical Team.

The role requires liaising effectively across all SPO teams and with other GSOp teams,  promoting the related information transfer as for tasks below described.

The main responsibility is to support the harmonized and coordinated System Engineering processes related to the Space Segment and the activities spanning over all Galileo infrastructure, sites and teams, in accordance with the indications of the Evolution Manager to whom she/he will report on the matter.

Processes and activities to be managed and overseen are primarily, but not limited to, the following:

  • Support the preparation and Follow-up of Launch and LEOP activities
  • Follow-up of Space Segment L2/L3 maintenance (IOV+FOC) support investigations and reporting
  • Follow-up implementation work and reporting of new on-board software version
  • Participation to coordination meetings with space segment manufacturer
  • Close working relationship with the Spaceopal satellite troubleshooting engineering team
  • Cooperation with the SPO System and Ground Segment Engineers (GMS and GCS) for a harmonized management of the system engineering activities in the framework
  • Development of technical notes, plans and other documentation as required plus regular reports on status of activities
  • Occasionally contribute, as and when required:
  • – to SPO technical proposal preparation processes liaising with SPO legal and contracts

Cyber Security Engineer (m/f/d) | Fucino, Italy

Tasks and Responsibilities:

The Cyber Security Engineer will be responsible for the management and application of security measures to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of Galileo Operated Infrastructures according to applicable security requirements and risk analysis.

This includes in particular:

  • Definition, maintenance and execution of Cyber Security Processes and Procedures to support Security Vulnerability and Patch Management processes
  • Contribution to Vulnerabilities Impact Assessment
  • Contribution to the definition of Security Monitoring Procedures
  • Contribution to the definition of Security Awareness Programs for Operators
  • Provision of expert advice in the analysis of security events and incidents
  • Management and control of the implementation of Functions and Technical Interfaces in compliance to the Cyber Security Requirements
  • Operational interface to Customer Security Teams and Bodies for Cyber Security activities
  • Support of the Security Accreditation Processes as a consequence of the above activities

The Cyber Security Engineer will work as part of an integrated team of security specialists. The working position is in GCC-I, Fucino, Italy.

Required Qualification and Experience:

The job requires in-depth knowledge of methodologies and supporting technologies involved in the cyber-protection of critical IT infrastructures, including for instance:

  • System and Network administration
  • Security Hardening techniques (policies definition, policies implementation, assessment)
  • Vulnerabilities handling
  • Security Monitoring systems and tools

The job requires also:

  • University degree in a relevant field (e.g. Telecommunications, Electronics, Informatics, Engineering or Physics) and/or appropriate high school degree
  • At least 5+ years relevant work experience
  • Fluent written and spoken English; knowledge of Italian would be a plus
  • Strong attitude to team work, also leveraging resources not directly dependent on him/her
