Spaceopal at the Munich Satellite Navigation Summit 2018
The Munich Satellite Navigation Summit (MSNS) is a conference with global impact dealing with the satellite navigation now and in the future. This year’s summit took place in the “Alte Bayerische Staatsbank” in the heart of Munich from March 5 – 7, 2018.
The participants came from all over the world: The opening plenary of the first day hosted speakers from Europe, the UK, the United States, Japan, China, and Russia, as well as Simon Plum, former COO of Spaceopal.
Day 2 provided status information of all major navigation programmes – Galileo (EU), GPS (USA), GLONASS (Russia), BeiDou (China), QZSS (Japan), as well as all the additional augmentation systems of the different nations across the globe. Applications and legal points of views were discussed and cooperation and communication between the systems and nations was encouraged.
The main event for Spaceopal during this summit was the Flashlight session, which provides each year the latest news of the Bavarian satellite navigation network of excellence and of the high-tech cluster of satellite navigation. The session took place in the morning of Day 3, and was hosted by Loredana Bruca, GSOp Service Operations Manager for Spaceopal. André Bauerhin, Managing Director of Spaceopal, was given the opportunity to present Spaceopal during this session and thus talk about the achievements and rewards received over the past year since the winning of the GSOp contract. Spaceopal, as Bronze Sponsor of the Munich Satellite Navigation Summit, was also present at the exhibition, sharing the stand with the European Commission (EC) and the European GNSS Agency (GSA).
In summary, the MSNS 2018 was a huge success for Munich, Bavaria, and Spaceopal in particular, and we thank everyone who came to listen to our presentations and talk to us at the stand. See you again next year!
