Successful completion of the hosting infrastructure implementation of the future Galileo Sensor Station in Wallis and Futuna

Spaceopal has been tasked by the GSA and the EC respectively to implement the hosting infrastructure for an additional Galileo Sensor Station (GSS) to be deployed on the Polynesian island Wallis in the Pacific Ocean – part of the French overseas collectivity of Wallis and Futuna-. The infrastructure implementation has been successfully completed in June 2020 by Spaceopal and its industrial team in collaboration with the GSA. In view of this achievement, Mr. André Bauerhin, Managing Director of Spaceopal said “We can be really proud of all teams and contributors involved in the activity implementing the remote site hosting infrastructure efficiently and in time for the Galileo programme in spite of the current worldwide Covid-19 pandemic situation”.

The additional GSS, complementing the Galileo Sensor station network, will be used to monitor the Galileo satellite L-band navigation signals and will be connected with the Galileo Control Centres through the Galileo Data Dissemination Network.
